Regular Season Round 13: Tromso - Sverresborg 95-45

Bottom-ranked Sverresborg (0-12) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 95-45 loss to fifth ranked Tromso (7-4) in Tromso on Sunday evening. The game without a history. Tromso led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Sverresborg's 32. They outrebounded Sverresborg 48-26 including a 39-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Tromso especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Sverresborg's players. American power forward Mike St.John (203-84, college: La Salle, agency: Global Sports Plaza) stepped up and scored 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import guard Gary Wallace (187-88, college: Robert Morris) chipped in 10 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. St.John is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Tromso players scored in double figures. Tromso's coach Kenneth Webb felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Polish guard Adam Kilian (183-85) responded with 15 points and 7 assists and center Petter Wanvik (194-89) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Tromso moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Sverresborg still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
