Regular Season Round 22: Shimane SM - Aomori Watts 63-95

The game between closely ranked teams ended with eighth ranked Aomori Watts' (9-11) road victory over 9th ranked Shimane Magic (5-15) 95-63. The game without a history. Aomori Watts led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Aomori Watts forced 19 Shimane Magic turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including 24 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 57.7 percentage. Aomori Watts players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Shimane Magic's players. Guard Yuki Kitamuki (184-85) notched 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and Guyanese-American forward Gordon Klaiber (206-83, college: Fair Dickinson) supported him with 24 points and 7 rebounds. Even 19 points and 9 rebounds by American center Jeral Davis (216-84) did not help to save the game for Shimane Magic. His fellow American import power forward LaShawn Malloy (209-84, college: New Orleans) added 7 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aomori Watts moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Shiga L-Stars and Yokohama BC. Shimane Magic at the other side keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. Aomori Watts' next round opponent will be league's leader Okinawa GK at home and it may be quite challenging game. Shimane Magic will play against Yokohama BC (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
