Regular Season Round 11: Yamanashi QB - Niigata 53-82

Bottom-ranked Yamanashi QB (0-11) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 82-53 loss to eighth ranked Niigata (4-7) in Yamanashi on Sunday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Niigata. Yamanashi QB managed to win second period 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Niigata had a 28-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for forward Nana Kondo (177-88) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Forward Inoue Ai (172-90) helped adding 16 points and 7 rebounds. Four Niigata players scored in double figures. Guard Saori Kanehara (164-87) responded with 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Kasumi Yagi (165-92) scored 13 points and 4 assists. Niigata moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Aishin AW. Newly promoted Yamanashi QB still closes the standings with 11 games lost. They share the position with Ebara Vickies. Niigata will meet at home higher ranked Chanson V-M (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Yamanashi QB will play against Ebara Vickies (#11) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
