Regular Season Round 11: Toyota B SR - Denso Iris 59-76

There was no surprise in Aichi where 10th ranked Toyota B SR (2-9) was defeated by second ranked Denso Iris (10-1) 76-59. Toyota B SR was ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 21-3 charge of Denso Iris, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Toyota B SR to just 3 points in fourth quarter. Denso Iris dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Toyota B SR's 28. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds (on 16-of-21 shooting from the field). International guard Kumiko Oba (169-88) accounted for 14 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Power forward Sari Osabe (174-87) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds and power forward Sakiko Nomachi (175-87) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Toyota B SR in the defeat. Denso Iris have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with JX Sunflowers. Toyota B SR lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth place with nine games lost. Denso Iris' next round opponent will be Fujitsu RW (#6) in Kawasaki which should be theoretically an easy game. Toyota B SR will play on the road against Hitachi Cougars in Hitachinaka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
