Regular Season Round 11: Maccabi.Ashdod - Hapoel T-A 75-85

Very expected game when 12th ranked Maccabi Ashdod (2-9) lost at home to fifth ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (7-4) 85-75 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 29-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Hapoel Tel-Aviv dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Maccabi Ashdod's 36. Hapoel Tel-Aviv forced 20 Maccabi Ashdod turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American guard Carlon Brown (195-89, college: Colorado) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 7 assists. The former international Raviv Limonad (191-84) contributed with 21 points for the winners. Hapoel Tel-Aviv's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American Marcus Dove (206-85, college: Oklahoma St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized American point guard Zack Rosen (185-89, college: Pennsylvania) added 11 points and 7 assists in the effort for Maccabi Ashdod. Four Hapoel Tel-Aviv and five Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Hapoel Tel-Aviv. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Maccabi T-A and Ironi Nes-Ziona. Maccabi Ashdod lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will face Bnei Hasharon (#8) in Hod Hasharon in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Maccabi Ashdod will play at home against the league's leader Hapoel Jerusalem (#1) and hope to win that game.
