There was no surprise when 5th ranked Lottomatica Roma (6-4) was defeated on the road by third ranked Montepaschi Siena (8-2) 82-70. Lottomatica Roma was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Liberian-American power forward Othello Hunter (203-86, college: Ohio St., agency: David Lee services) notched a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and naturalized Ghanian guard David Cournooh (188-90) supported him with 21 points. Montepaschi Siena's coach Marco Crespi allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists by American swingman Quinton Hosley (201-84, college: Fresno St.) did not help to save the game for Lottomatica Roma. American-Nigerian forward Trevor Mbakwe (207-89, college: Minnesota) added 11 points and 12 rebounds for lost side. Montepaschi Siena have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Banco di Srd and Enel Brindisi. Lottomatica Roma at the other side keeps the fifth place with four games lost. Montepaschi Siena's next round opponent will be league's leader Banco di Srd in Sassari and it will be for sure the game of the week.
