Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Foshan (6-8) and Qingdao Eagles (3-11), which took place in Foshan. Higher ranked Foshan lost at home to seventeenth ranked Qingdao Eagles 99-109 on Sunday. Foshan was trailing by 7 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 29-18 charge of Qingdao Eagles, which allowed them to win the game. Qingdao Eagles outrebounded Foshan 44-29 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Palestinian center Sani Sakakini (204-88) notched a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds to lead the effort and American-Puerto Rican center Peter Ramos (222-85) supported him with 24 points and 12 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Foshan's coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Qingdao Eagles moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Jilin NE T. Loser Foshan dropped to the twelfth position with eight games lost. Qingdao Eagles will meet at home higher ranked Liaoning Hunters (#11) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Foshan will play against Jiangsu Dragons and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
