The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Groningen as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Groningen defeated 4th ranked M.Magixx at home 85-79. The former international forward Thijs Vermeulen (194-85) added 12 points. Groningen have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they took over a top position. M.Magixx at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. They share the position with Leiden. M.Magixx will play next round against strong Zwolle trying to get back on the winning streak. Groningen will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Leeuwarden on the road.
