Regular Season Round 10: Torino - Biassono 80-48
Date: December 15, 2013
Not a big story in a game when bottom-ranked Biassono (0-8) was rolled over on the road by fourth ranked Torino (5-3) 80-48 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Torino. Biassono was better in third quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Torino shot 21 for 36 from the free-throw line, while Biassono only scored four points from the stripe. Torino forced 34 Biassono turnovers. Center Clara Salvini (180-92) had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Paola Montanaro (168-89) chipped in 16 points, 6 assists and 7 steals during the contest. Four Torino players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Alessia Colombo (182-93) responded with 9 points and 10 rebounds and guard Federica Sallustio (171-95) scored 6 points and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Torino have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place in North-West. Loser Biassono still closes the standings with eight games lost. Torino will face league's second-placed Genova on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Biassono will play against Virtus Cagliari (#5) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
