Regular Season Round 11: Njardvik - Stjarnan 98-87

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked Njardvik and 6th ranked Stjarnan had identical 6-4 record. This time Njardvik used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Stjarnan 98-87. The game without a history. Njardvik led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three nailing 19 long-distance shots on high 55.9 percentage. Njardvik players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. It was a great evening for international point guard Elvar Fridriksson (180-94) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. American swingman Nigel Moore (195-81, college: Alabama A&M) helped adding 21 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Njardvik players scored in double figures. Njardvik's coach Einar Johannson allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Junior Hairston (203-84, college: Towson, agency: KMG Sports Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds and guard Dagur Jonsson (186-95) scored 17 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Njardvik (7-4) moved-up to third place, which they share with Grindavik. Stjarnan at the other side keeps the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with Haukar. Njardvik will play against KFI (#9) in Isafjordur in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Stjarnan will play on the road against the league's second-placed Keflavik and hopes to get back on the winning track.
