Regular Season Round 10: Stelmet ZG - Polpharma 91-55

Leader Stelmet ZG delivered the ninth victory on Monday night. This time they crushed 12th ranked Polpharma (1-9) 91-55 in Zielona Gora. The hosts trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 36 points. Stelmet ZG dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Polpharma's 30. International center Adam Hrycaniuk (206-84, college: Cincinnati, agency: Alti Sport) had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Marcin Sroka (201-81, agency: Promotex) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Four Stelmet ZG players scored in double figures. Stelmet ZG's coach Mihailo Uvalin felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American swingman Michael Hicks (195-83, college: Central Mo., agency: Court Side) responded with 17 points and 6 rebounds and Bosnian forward Mujo Tuljkovic (203-79, agency: Beo Basket) scored 16 points. Stelmet ZG (9-1) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position. Polpharma lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with nine games lost. Stelmet ZG will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Polpharma will play against Kotwica (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
