Regular Season Round 11: Hapoel Holon - Hapoel T-A 76-85
Date: December 19, 2013
Another interesting game for Hapoel Tel-Aviv (7-4) which played on the court of Hapoel Holon (6-5). Fifth ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv won 85-76. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hapoel Holon. It looked good early as Hapoel Holon took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hapoel Tel-Aviv had a 18-12 second period charge getting the lead and Hapoel Holon was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 76-85. Hapoel Tel-Aviv made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a great evening for the former international Raviv Limonad (191-84) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 7 assists. The former international Matan Naor (195-80) helped adding 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Hapoel Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. American point guard Scottie Reynolds (188-87, college: Villanova) responded with 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists and the other American import forward Laurence Bowers (203, college: Missouri) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds. Hapoel Holon's coach Lior Lubin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hapoel Tel-Aviv have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Maccabi T-A and Ironi Nes-Ziona. Hapoel Holon at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Maccabi Haifa and Hapoel Eilat. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play against Bnei Hasharon (#8) in Hod Hasharon in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Hapoel Holon will play on the road against Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
