Regular Season Round 23: Shiga L-Stars - Toyama Grouses 90-87

Important game to mention about took place in Shiga. Fifth ranked Shiga L-Stars (10-11) saved a 3-point victory at home edging second-ranked Toyama Grouses (16-5) 90-87 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Toyama Grouses. Toyama Grouses were ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 47-38 second half run of Shiga L-Stars. Strangely Toyama Grouses outrebounded Shiga L-Stars 46-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American forward Marshall Brown (199-85, college: Missouri) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import guard Brandon Fields (193-88, college: Nevada) helped adding 27 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and Joho Masashi (183-82) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Four Toyama Grouses players scored in double figures. Shiga L-Stars maintains fifth place with 10-11 record, which they share with 3 other teams. Toyama Grouses at the other side keep the second position with five games lost. Shiga L-Stars will again play against league's second-placed Toyama Grouses at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Toyama Grouses will have a break next round.
