Regular Season Round 12: Cieszyn - AZS AWF K-ce 60-98

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Cieszyn (2-10) was crushed at home by fifth ranked AZS AWF K-ce (7-4) 98-60 on Saturday. The game without a history. AZS AWF K-ce led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. AZS AWF K-ce had a 33-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when AZS AWF K-ce made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was forward Filip Czyznielewski (198-91) who scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Krzysztof Kurdubski (199-87) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Four AZS AWF K-ce players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Mateusz Tomica (196-92) who recorded 13 points and 5 rebounds and center Tomasz Czajkowski (204-82) added 7 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Cieszyn's coach was aware about no chance of winning the game, so allowed to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. AZS AWF K-ce moved-up to fourth place in Group B. Cieszyn lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with ten games lost. AZS AWF K-ce will face AZS Pol.Cz-wa (#10) in Czestochowa in the next round where they are favorite. Cieszyn will play on the road against Pogon Prudnik and hope to win that game.
