Regular Season Round 23: Yokohama BC - Shimane SM 75-55

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Shimane Magic's (5-16) road loss to eighth ranked Yokohama BC (10-11) 55-75 on Saturday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Yokohama BC's pressure prevailed and they won that period 17-2 extending their advantage to 20 points. Swingman Masayuki Kabaya (183-82) contributed with 15 points and 7 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for the winners. Four Yokohama BC players scored in double figures. American power forward LaShawn Malloy (209-84, college: New Orleans) answered with 14 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Kouki Yamabuchi (183-84) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Shimane Magic. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Yokohama BC moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Shimane Magic dropped to the tenth position with 16 games lost. Yokohama BC will face again Shimane Magic (#10) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
