Regular Season Round 23: Aomori Watts - Okinawa GK 72-70

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Okinawa GK (16-3) on the court of seventh ranked Aomori Watts on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by Aomori Watts 72-70. It ended at the same time the 12-game winning streak of Okinawa GK. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 72-70. Aomori Watts forced 19 Okinawa GK turnovers. Dutch-American power forward Stanley Ocitti (203-80, college: Binghamton, agency: R.H.Consultancy) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Guyanese-American forward Gordon Klaiber (206-83, college: Fair Dickinson) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) answered with 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Okinawa GK. Okinawa GK's coach Tsutomu Isa rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Aomori Watts (10-11) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Okinawa GK at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Aomori Watts is again looking forward to face league's leader Okinawa GK at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Okinawa GK will have a break next round.
