Very predictable result in Vallingby where second ranked Umea (10-2) smashed 9th ranked KFUM Blackebergs (4-7) 82-56 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Umea. KFUM Blackebergs was better in fourth quarter 22-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding KFUM Blackebergs to just 6 points in third quarter. Umea forced 25 KFUM Blackebergs turnovers and outrebounded them 46-31 including 32 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Daniel Persson (198-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and Palestinian guard Omar Krayem (185-86, college: Cal.Baptist) who added 14 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals during the contest. Krayem is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Umea players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Tim Schuberg (188-95) with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and center Nicklas Bergstrom (205-78) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Umea have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 10-2 record having just -1 point less than leader Malbas, which they share with 08. KFUM Blackebergs lost fifth consecutive game.
