The game in Saint Chamond was also quite interesting. 5th ranked La Rochelle (9-5) played at the court of sixth ranked Saint Chamond (10-5). Saint Chamond did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 74-56 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of La Rochelle. The game was mostly controlled by Saint Chamond. La Rochelle managed to win second period 16-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding La Rochelle to just 6 points in third quarter. The best player for the winners was Cuban power forward Grismay Paumier (203-88) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Jean-Stephane Rinna (205-83) chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jarryd Cole (204-88, college: Iowa) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Samir Mekdad (188-86) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Saint Chamond moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Charleville. Loser La Rochelle dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. Saint Chamond will meet Sorgues BC (#7) on the road in the next round. La Rochelle will play against ADA Blois and hope to secure a win.
