Regular Season Round 11: Pau Orthez - Dunkerque 89-66

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Dunkerque (3-8) was crushed on the road by third ranked Pau Lacq Orthez (8-2) 89-66 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Pau Lacq Orthez. Dunkerque managed to win fourth quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pau Lacq Orthez dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Dunkerque's 28. They outrebounded Dunkerque 40-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for Senegalese forward Awa Gueye (182-78) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. point guard Ingrid Bunel (174-87) helped adding 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Dace Pierre-joseph responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Aurelie Durand (170-88) scored 17 points. Five Pau Lacq Orthez and four Dunkerque players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Pau Lacq Orthez. They maintain third place with 8-2 record having just two points less than leader COB Calais. Dunkerque lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the twelfth position with eight games lost. Pau Lacq Orthez will meet Pays d'Aix (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dunkerque will play against LTB 29 and hope to secure a win.
