The game in Sydney was also quite interesting. 6th ranked Logan Thunder (5-10) played at the court of seventh ranked Sydney Uni Flames (6-9). Sydney Uni Flames did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 93-75 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Logan Thunder. The game was mostly controlled by Sydney Uni Flames. Logan Thunder managed to win fourth quarter 24-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Sydney Uni Flames especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by the former international guard Alicia Poto (166-78) who scored that evening 22 points and 4 assists and guard Katie-Rae Ebzery (177-90) supported her with 15 points and 8 assists. Sydney Uni Flames' coach Karen Dalton used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 22 points and 7 rebounds by forward Emma Langford (188-89, college: Wyoming) did not help to save the game for Logan Thunder. International swingman Hanna Zavecz (186-85) added 14 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Sydney Uni Flames moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Adelaide. Loser Logan Thunder dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. They share it with Canberra C.. Sydney Uni Flames will meet at home Canberra Capitals (#8) in the next round. Logan Thunder will play against West Coast Waves in Perth and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
