Regular Season Round 15: Lourdes - Montbrison 99-88

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both thirteenth ranked Lourdes-Tarbes and 14th ranked Montbrison had identical 5-9 record. This time Lourdes-Tarbes used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Montbrison 99-88 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Lourdes-Tarbes. Montbrison was better in third quarter 29-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lourdes-Tarbes shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 56.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. Lourdes-Tarbes' coach Alex Casimiri used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Georgian center Georges Mdivani (204-85, agency: Promotex) with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and forward Regis Aubry (199-82) scored 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Montbrison players scored in double figures. Lourdes-Tarbes (6-9) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Cognac. Montbrison at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourteenth position with ten games lost. Lourdes-Tarbes will face higher ranked UB Chartres (#11) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Montbrison will play against Pontoise in Cergy and hope to win that game.
