The game in Tokyo was also worth to mention about. Third ranked Chanson V-M (10-2) played at the court of 8th ranked Niigata (4-8). Chanson V-M did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 79-62. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Niigata. The game was mostly controlled by Chanson V-M. Niigata was better in second period 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Niigata 41-29 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Sanae Motokawa (175-92) who scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Center Miyuki Kawamura (183-94) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds. Four Chanson V-M players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Sangi Kanade (169-86) who recorded 18 points and 6 assists and guard Seiko Kawakami (165-88) added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Chanson V-M have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Denso Iris. Niigata at the other side dropped to the seventh position with eight games lost. Chanson V-M's next round opponent will be Mitsubishi K. (#5) in Nagoya. Niigata will play again at home against the league's second-placed Chanson V-M and hope to win that game.
