Regular Season Round 12: Denso Iris - Fujitsu RW 56-61

Leading Denso Iris (10-2) recorded its second loss in Kariya. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Fujitsu RW (9-3) 61-56. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Denso Iris. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Denso Iris won fourth quarter 11-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fujitsu RW brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Yoko Nagi (175-82) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and international forward Moeko Nagaoka (180-93) who added 7 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was international power forward Maki Takada (183-89) with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds and guard Minami Iju (168-90) scored 8 points. Denso Iris' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Fujitsu RW have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Mitsubishi K. and Toyota A. Denso Iris at the other side dropped to the second position with two games lost. They share it with Chanson V-M. Fujitsu RW will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Denso Iris will play again on the road against Fujitsu RW in Kawasaki and hope to get back on the winning track.
