Regular Season Round 24: Bambitious Nara - Sendai 89ers 80-103

Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Bambitious Nara (5-15) was rolled over at home by sixth ranked Sendai 89ers (11-11) 103-80 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Sendai 89ers. Bambitious Nara was better in fourth quarter 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sendai 89ers dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Bambitious Nara's 28. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Wendell Wendell (198-84, college: UNLV) who helped to win the game recording 39 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and Yasuhiko Wada (181-90) who added 27 points and 4 steals during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Anthony Brown (203-86, college: Oklahoma St., agency: KMG Sports Management) with 15 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import swingman Jamar Abrams (201-89, college: E.Carolina, agency: KMG Sports Management) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Four Bambitious Nara players scored in double figures. Sendai 89ers maintains sixth position with 11-11 record, which they share with Yokohama BC. Loser Bambitious Nara keeps the ninth place with 15 games lost. Sendai 89ers will have a break next round. Bambitious Nara will play on the road against the league's second-placed Toyama Grouses (#2) and hope to win that game.
