Regular Season Round 13: Proger BLS - P.Mantovana 54-72

An interesting game took place in Chieti where higher ranked Chieti (7-6) was upset on its own court by thirteenth ranked P.Mantovana (6-7) 72-54. The game was mostly controlled by P.Mantovana. Chieti was better in fourth quarter 27-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. P.Mantovana dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Chieti's 22. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Johndre Jefferson (207-88, college: S.Carolina, agency: Three Eye Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. Naturalized Slovenian guard Mirza Alibegovic (197-92) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. P.Mantovana's coach Alberto Morea allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Matt Shaw (203-88, college: UNLV, agency: Two Points) answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import point guard Showron Glover (180-87) added 13 points in the effort for Chieti. P.Mantovana moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Treviglio and Roseto. Chieti at the other side dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. P.Mantovana's next round opponent will be Reggio Calabr. (#13) in Reggio Calabria.
