The game between closely ranked teams ended with 14th ranked Bayi Rockets' (4-12) road loss to thirteenth ranked Foshan (7-9) 92-102 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Foshan. Bayi Rockets was better in third quarter 33-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Foshan forced 22 Bayi Rockets turnovers and outrebounded them 42-29 including 18 on the offensive glass. Bayi Rockets were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Xuhang Zhu (207-93) fired a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds (on 16-of-20 shooting from the field) for the winners. Forward Junwei Ren (203-90) chipped in 40 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Foshan's coach XingQuan Jiang used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international center ZhongHao Xu (212-90) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and the former international guard Shuo Han (196-86) added 21 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Four Bayi Rockets players scored in double figures. Foshan moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Jiangsu D. Bayi Rockets lost seventh consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with 12 games lost. Foshan will face higher ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#11) in Hangzhou in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bayi Rockets will play on the road against Jilin Tigers (#14) in Changchun and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
