Regular Season Round 24: Hamamatsu P. - Shinshu BW 93-75

The game between Top Four teams took place in Mikawa. Fourth ranked host Hamamatsu Phoenix (12-10) defeated one of their biggest challengers Shinshu BW (14-6) 93-75. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Shinshu BW. The game was mostly controlled by Hamamatsu Phoenix. Shinshu BW managed to win second period 27-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hamamatsu Phoenix looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Masahiro Masahiro (172-76) who helped to win the game recording 23 points and American power forward Cyrus Tate (203-85, college: Iowa) who added 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Hamamatsu Phoenix players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St.) with 25 points and 9 rebounds and Shota Konno (184-85) scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hamamatsu Phoenix moved-up to third place, which they share with Oita H.Devils. Shinshu BW at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Hamamatsu Phoenix is looking forward to face Osaka Evessa (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Shinshu BW will play against the league's second-placed Kyoto Hannar. (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
