Regular Season Round 24: Osaka Evessa - Akita NH 78-89

BJ League top team - Akita Happinets (20-4) managed to deliver another win on Sunday. This time they beat eighth ranked Osaka Evessa (8-14) 89-78. The game was mostly controlled by Akita Happinets. Osaka Evessa managed to win third quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Akita Happinets looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American swingman Richard Roby (198-85) who scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international point guard Yuki Togashi (170-93) chipped in 16 points and 9 assists. Akita Happinets' coach Kazuo Nakamura used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Kevin Galloway (200-88, college: Texas Southern) who recorded 13 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and swingman Yosuke Sugawara (187-83) added 15 points respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Akita Happinets have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 20-4 record. Osaka Evessa lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 14 games lost. Akita Happinets will meet at home Oita Heat Devils (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Osaka Evessa will play against Hamamatsu Phoenix (#4) and hope to secure a win.
