Regular Season Round 11: Shandong - Yunnan 76-104

The game between closely ranked teams ended with tenth ranked Qujing Yunnan's (2-8) road victory over 11th ranked Shandong (1-10) in Jinan 104-76 on Tuesday. They outrebounded Shandong 37-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. Qujing Yunnan looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American center Lindsay Taylor (203-81, college: UCSB) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds (on 14-of-15 shooting from the field). Forward Betty Cao (180-87) contributed with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Qujing Yunnan players scored in double figures. Guard Siyu Wang (175-95) answered with 15 points and 7 assists and power forward Hengyu Yang (194-95) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Shandong. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Qujing Yunnan maintains tenth place with 2-8 record. Shandong lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with ten games lost. Qujing Yunnan will face higher ranked Jiangsu Phoenix (#8) in Yixing in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Shandong will play on the road against Guangdong Dolphins in Guangzhou and hope to win that game.
