Regular Season Round 18: Fujian QB - Shanghai S. 95-113

11th ranked Fujian (9-9) was outscored at home by fifth ranked Shanghai Sharks (12-6) with the biggest margin this round 113-95 on Friday night. The game was mostly controlled by Shanghai Sharks. Fujian was better in fourth quarter 28-27. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shanghai Sharks dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Fujian's 54. They outrebounded Fujian 48-36 including 36 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Shanghai Sharks especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 53.3 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Shanghai Sharks made 7 blocks. American guard Quincy Douby (190-84, college: Rutgers) scored 44 points (!!!) to lead the charge for the winners and international point guard Wei Liu (190-80) chipped in 19 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Iranian forward Mohammad Samad Nikkhah Bahrami (199-83) with 31 points and 6 assists and international Zhelin Wang (215-94) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. Four Fujian players scored in double figures. Fujian's coach let to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Shanghai Sharks moved-up to fourth place, which they share with DongGuan L. Fujian lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with nine games lost. Shanghai Sharks will face Sichuan BW (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Fujian will play against the league's leader Xinjiang Flying Tige (#1) and hope to win that game.
