Regular Season Round 25: Gunma - Shiga L-Stars 85-84

There was an upset when higher ranked Shiga L-Stars (10-13) were edged on the road by tenth ranked Gunma (4-17) 85-84 on Saturday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-14. But Shiga L-Stars won second period 18-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gunma made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. American forward Carlos Dixon (201-81, college: Virginia Tech) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. point guard Masashi Obuchi (182-83) chipped in 9 points and 7 assists. Panamanian forward Dionisio Gomez Camargo (203-80, college: Arkansas) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 18 rebounds and American guard Brandon Fields (193-88, college: Nevada) added 20 points respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gunma maintains tenth place with 4-17 record. Loser Shiga L-Stars keep the sixth position with 13 games lost. Gunma will face again higher ranked Shiga L-Stars (#6) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
