Regular Season Round 21: Rieker KN - B.Bystrica 84-82

Seventh-ranked SKP Banska Bystrica (7-12) was very close to win a game against third ranked Rieker KN (12-6) in Komarno on Saturday. Rieker KN managed to secure only two-point victory 84-82. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 41-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely SKP Banska Bystrica outrebounded Rieker KN 40-0 including a 15- advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for American forward Dallis Joyner (203-90, college: Stony Brook) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds. Canadian guard Juevol Myles (185-89, college: S.Dakota) contributed with 25 points for the winners. American point guard Chris Lowe (182-87, college: Massachusetts, agency: KMG Sports Management) answered with 28 points and 5 assists and the former international guard Milan Ziak (190-88) added 15 points in the effort for SKP Banska Bystrica. Four SKP Banska Bystrica players scored in double figures. Rieker KN have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain third place with 12-6 record having five points less than leader Inter Bratislava, which they share with Prievidza. SKP Banska Bystrica lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 12 games lost. Rieker KN is looking forward to face league's leader Inter Bratislava on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. SKP Banska Bystrica will play against Prievidza (#4) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
