The game between fourth ranked Prievidza (12-6) and 8th ranked Levice (3-16) in Prievidza on Saturday ended with biggest points difference. Prievidza beat guests from Levice 87-72. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Prievidza's pressure prevailed and they won that period 26-14 extending their advantage to 15 points. Croatian power forward Drazen Klaric (204-80) nailed 24 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and American point guard Corey Jefferson (181-85, college: Texas St.) accounted for 21 points and 5 assists. Jefferson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Brandon Lockhart (185-90, college: Drury) came up with 19 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import center Elijah Obade (206-91, college: Millersville) added 18 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Levice in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Prievidza. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Rieker KN. Levice lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with 16 games lost. Prievidza will meet SKP Banska Bystrica (#7) on the road in the next round. Levice will play against the league's second-placed Nitra and hope to secure a win.
