Regular Season Round 14: KK Hito - Tln Kalev 58-80

There was no surprise in Johvi where bottom-ranked KK Hito (0-16) was crushed by fifth ranked Tln Kalev (7-8) 80-58 on Saturday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Tln Kalev's pressure prevailed and they won that period 30-15 extending their advantage to 22 points. Strangely KK Hito outrebounded Tln Kalev 45-0 including a 19- advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Reimo Tamm (188-84) who scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. Ghanian-American power forward Asenso Ampim (203-88, college: Columbia) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Four Tln Kalev players scored in double figures. point guard Siim Laur (189-87) produced 18 points and power forward Edvard Trumm (192-83) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. KK Hito's coach Priit Sternhof gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Tln Kalev maintains fifth position with 7-8 record. KK Hito at the other side still closes the standings.
