An interesting game took place in Harbin where 6th ranked Heilongjiang Chenneng (6-6) was upset on its own court by ninth ranked Liaoning Hengye (5-6) 76-62 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 76-62. Liaoning Hengye made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Jayne Appel (193-88, college: Stanford) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and international forward Zengyu Ma (183-84) who added 18 points during the contest. Four Liaoning Hengye players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Australian power forward Lauren Jackson (196-81) with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard YanYan Ji (182-85) scored 22 points. Liaoning Hengye moved-up to eighth place. Heilongjiang Chenneng lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with six games lost. Liaoning Hengye will face league's leader Shanxi Rui Flame in TaiyuanC in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
