Regular Season Round 12: Beijing - Shenyang 96-58

Bottom-ranked Shenyang Golden Lions (0-12) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their 12th consecutive match to second ranked Beijing Great Wall (10-2) 96-58 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. Beijing Great Wall led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Shenyang Golden Lions' 40 and made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was Australian center Elizabeth Cambage (203-91) who scored 36 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (on 13-of-14 shooting from the field). The former international center Lin Zhang (193-83) chipped in 7 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Jiabao Jin (184-93) who recorded 15 points and 5 rebounds and international forward Meng Li (185-95) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Beijing Great Wall have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 10-2 record having just two points less than leader Shanxi. Loser Shenyang Golden Lions still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Beijing Great Wall will meet Shandong (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shenyang Golden Lions will play against Heilongjiang Chenneng and hope to get finally their first victory.
