The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Tinguiririca S.F. as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Tinguiririca S.F. defeated one of their biggest challengers Universidad de Concepcion in San Fernando 105-97. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Universidad de Concepcion won fourth quarter 35-34. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Osorno Basq. and Boston Coll. Universidad de Concepcion at the other side dropped to the second place with seven games lost. They share the position with 4 other teams.
