No shocking result in a game when third ranked Lottomatica Roma (9-4) defeated on the road 13th ranked Tuscany Pistoia (5-8) 85-76 on Sunday. Tuscany Pistoia trailed by 15 points at halftime and as many as 25 after three quarters before a 31-15 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 76-85 at the end of the game. The game was dominated by American players. Swingman Quinton Hosley (201-84, college: Fresno St.) stepped up and scored 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and point guard Jordan Taylor (185-89, college: Wisconsin) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Five Lottomatica Roma players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) responded with 21 points and 5 assists and forward Ed Daniel (201-90, college: Murray St.) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Lottomatica Roma have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Tuscany Pistoia keeps the thirteenth place with eight games lost. Lottomatica Roma will meet at home Umana Venezia (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tuscany Pistoia will play against Granarolo BO and hope to secure a win.
