Regular Season Round 19: Fujian QB - Xinjiang FT 112-110 OT

Round 19 in CBA means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Jinjiang where host Fujian (10-9) edged league's leader Xinjiang Flying Tige (15-4) 112-110 in overtime on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Xinjiang Flying Tige. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 30-18 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 12-10. Fujian dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Xinjiang Flying Tige's 48 and made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Xinjiang Flying Tige 54-41 including 16 on the offensive glass. International Zhelin Wang (215-94) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. American guard Delonte West (192-83, college: St.Joseph's) chipped in 22 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward James Singleton (203-81, college: Murray St.) produced 31 points and 9 rebounds and American Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Priority Sports) added 25 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Five Fujian and four Xinjiang Flying Tige players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Fujian maintains ninth place with 10-9 record. Xinjiang Flying Tige at the other side dropped to the second position with four games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Guangdong ST. Xinjiang Flying Tige will play next round against Shanghai Sharks trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Fujian will try to continue on its current victory against seventeenth ranked Shanxi Zhongyu in Taiyuan.
