Everything went according to plan when third ranked Prima Veroli (9-5) defeated at home bottom-ranked Aget Service IM (1-13) 80-76 on Sunday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Aget Service IM won fourth quarter 19-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Prima Veroli made 36-of-38 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 32 Aget Service IM turnovers. Strangely Aget Service IM outrebounded Prima Veroli 66-40 including a 26-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. Aget Service IM was plagued by 44 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Jamarr Sanders (193-88, college: UAB, agency: Two Points) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points. Forward Giovanni Carenza (202-88, college: St.Anselm) contributed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard Warren Niles (196-89, college: ORU) replied with 19 points and 7 rebounds and power forward Mitchell Poletti (205-88) added 19 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) in the effort for Aget Service IM. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Prima Veroli have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 9-5 record having just two points less than leader Trento, which they share with Angelico BI and Upea CdO. Aget Service IM lost tenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost. Prima Veroli will face Sigma Barcellona (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite.
