Regular Season Round 12: Bnei Hertzeliyya - Hapoel T-A 78-80

Date: December 29, 2013
Important game to mention about took place in Hod Hasharon. Second ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (8-4) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 8th ranked Bnei Hasharon (5-7) 80-78 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-14. But Bnei Hasharon won second period 23-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hapoel Tel-Aviv made 22-of-26 charity shots (84.6 percent) during the game. The winners were led by the former international Raviv Limonad (191-84) who scored that evening 25 points and 4 assists and American guard Carlon Brown (195-89, college: Colorado) supported him with 23 points and 4 assists. Even 9 points and 10 rebounds by American power forward Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) did not help to save the game for Bnei Hasharon. Nigerian-American point guard Michael Umeh (188-84, college: UNLV, agency: Two Points) added 17 points. Hapoel Tel-Aviv have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 8-4 record behind leader Hapoel J-M, which they share with Maccabi T-A. Bnei Hasharon at the other side keeps the eighth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Galil Gilboa. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play against Hapoel Eilat (#6) at home in the next round. Bnei Hasharon will play against the league's leader Hapoel Jerusalem and hopes to get back on the winning track.
