Regular Season Round 26: Osaka Evessa - Hamamatsu P. 71-81

Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (13-11) won against on the road 7th ranked Osaka Evessa (9-15) 81-71 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Hamamatsu Phoenix. Osaka Evessa was better in fourth quarter 26-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Osaka Evessa was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international guard Masahiro Masahiro (172-76) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points. American power forward Cyrus Tate (203-85, college: Iowa) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners. Four Hamamatsu Phoenix players scored in double figures. American point guard Kevin Galloway (200-88, college: Texas Southern) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists and his fellow American import guard Marcus Capers (193-89, college: Washington St.) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Osaka Evessa. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Hamamatsu Phoenix moved-up to third place, which they share with Yokohama BC. Loser Osaka Evessa keeps the seventh position with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
