Very important is a home loss of third ranked Kiryat Tivon (8-4) against sixth ranked Ironi Ramat Gan (7-5) on Tuesday night. Host Kiryat Tivon was defeated by Ironi Ramat Gan in a tough game in Kiryat Tivon 78-87. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kiryat Tivon. Kiryat Tivon trailed by 12 points at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 32-25 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 78-87 at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was American center Joshua Crawford (211-88, college: Indiana St.) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Fred Hunter (196-89, college: Nicholls St., agency: SDJ Sports) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Charles Hinkle (195-88, college: his fellow American import) added 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Five Ironi Ramat Gan and four Kiryat Tivon players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ironi Ramat Gan moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Hapoel Migd.H. and Hapoel Afula. Loser Kiryat Tivon keeps the third position with four games lost. Ironi Ramat Gan will meet at home Beer Yaakov (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kiryat Tivon will play against Ironi Kiryat Ata (#13) and hope to secure a win.
