Regular Season Round 20: DongGuan L. - Liaoning H. 106-108

A very close game took place in DongGuan between Liaoning Hunters and DongGuan Leopards. Eleventh ranked Liaoning Hunters (10-10) got a very close victory on the road over higher ranked DongGuan Leopards (13-7). Liaoning Hunters managed to escape with a 2-point win 108-106 on Wednesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of DongGuan Leopards. DongGuan Leopards trailed by 16 points after 3 quarters before a 34-20 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 106-108 at the end of the game. Liaoning Hunters made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American forward Hakim Warrick (204-82, college: Syracuse) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import guard Dominique Jones (193-88, college: S.Florida) supported him with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Even 31 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals by American point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) did not help to save the game for DongGuan Leopards. Forward QuAn Gu (203-92) added 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Five Liaoning Hunters and four DongGuan Leopards players scored in double figures. Liaoning Hunters moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Shandong FB and Fujian QB. Loser DongGuan Leopards keep the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Shanghai S.. Liaoning Hunters will meet at home Foshan (#13) in the next round. DongGuan Leopards will play against Jilin Tigers (#16) and hope to secure a win.
