Regular Season Round 12: Bnot Hertzeliya - Elitzur Holon 69-67

The most exciting game of round 12 in the D1 took place in Hertzeliya. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Elitzur Holon (4-6) to seventh ranked Bnot Hertzeliya (4-7) 69-67 on Thursday evening. Elitzur Holon was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Bnot Hertzeliya forced 22 Elitzur Holon turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Jessica Breland (190-88, college: N.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Chelsea Hopkins (173-90, college: San Diego St.) who added 11 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Bernice Mosby (186-84, college: Baylor) with 22 points and 6 rebounds and guard Rebekah Gardner (185-90, college: UCLA) scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Bnot Hertzeliya and four Elitzur Holon players scored in double figures. Bnot Hertzeliya moved-up to sixth place, which they share with H.R. Le-Zion. Elitzur Holon lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with six games lost. Bnot Hertzeliya will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Elitzur Holon will play at home against Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
