Regular Season Round 27: Okinawa GK - Saitama Bron. 77-57

BJ League top team - Okinawa GK (19-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked Saitama Broncos (2-22) 77-57. The game was mostly controlled by Okinawa GK. Saitama Broncos was better in fourth quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Okinawa GK made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Okinawa GK outrebounded Saitama Broncos 50-36 including 36 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: De Paul) who led his team to a victory with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Trinidad and Tobago power forward Kibwe Trim (208-84, college: Sacred Heart) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Four Okinawa GK players scored in double figures. American swingman John Humphrey (188-80, college: Middle Tenn.St.) answered with 22 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import power forward Mark Dawson (206-83, college: Long Beach St.) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Saitama Broncos. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Okinawa GK maintains first place with 19-3 record. Saitama Broncos lost seventeenth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 22 games lost. Okinawa GK will have a break next round. Saitama Broncos will play at home against Gunma (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
