Regular Season Round 12: Roche - Avenir 81-58

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Roche (10-1) crushed 7th ranked Avenir (5-6) in La Roche 81-58 on Saturday. It was a good game for guard Johana Tayeau (173-89) who led her team to a victory with 15 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Senegalese center Aminata Nar Diop (196-83, college: Georgetown) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Five Roche players scored in double figures. Senegalese center Marie Rosche (191-87, college: Dayton) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and center Rose-Marie Ciss (181-80) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Avenir. Avenir's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Roche maintains second position with 10-1 record behind leader COB Calais. Avenir lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth place with six games lost. Roche will face league's leader COB Calais on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Avenir will play against Pays d'Aix (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
