Regular Season Round 27: Kyoto Hannar. - Oita H.Devils 70-83

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Kyoto Hannar. (16-10) against fourth ranked Oita Heat Devils (14-12) on Saturday night. Host Kyoto Hannar. was defeated by Oita Heat Devils in Kyoto 83-70. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Kyoto Hannar.. The game was mostly controlled by Oita Heat Devils. Kyoto Hannar. managed to win fourth quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Kyoto Hannar. 37-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Oita Heat Devils especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 66.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was swingman Gabriel McCulley (200-89, college: UTEP) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Verdell Jones III (195-89, college: Indiana) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was center Chris Holm (212-84, college: Vermont) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and forward David Palmer (201-82, college: S.Utah) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Five Oita Heat Devils and four Kyoto Hannar. players scored in double figures. Kyoto Hannar.'s coach Honoo Hamaguchi let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Oita Heat Devils moved-up to third place. Loser Kyoto Hannar. keeps the second position with ten games lost. Oita Heat Devils will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kyoto Hannar. will play against Bambitious Nara and hope to secure a win.
