Regular Season Round 27: Takamatsu FA - Gunma 85-75

Date: January 4, 2014
Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Takamatsu FA (13-11) beat at home 10th ranked Gunma (4-20) 85-75 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Takamatsu FA. Gunma was better in fourth quarter 26-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American power forward Paul Williams (208-83, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: I.D.S. Law) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 15 rebounds (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field). His fellow American import swingman Dexter Lyons (198-81, college: Cent.Florida, agency: I.D.S. Law) helped adding 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Carlos Dixon (201-81, college: Virginia Tech) with 18 points and 9 rebounds and Serbian power forward Darko Cohadarevic (206-86, college: Texas Tech) scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Takamatsu FA moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Yokohama BC and Hamamatsu P. Loser Gunma keeps the tenth position with 20 games lost. Takamatsu FA will have a break next round. Gunma will play on the road against Saitama Broncos (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
