The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Widzew's (2-14) road loss to eighth ranked Riviera Gdynia (4-12) 45-73 on Sunday. Riviera Gdynia outrebounded Widzew 42-23 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Malgorzata Misiuk (184-91) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 9 rebounds and guard Natalia Malaszewska (178-84, agency: Promotex) who added 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Tynikki Crook (185-89, college: Marshall, agency: Regeneracom Sports) responded with 13 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Alicja Bednarek (170-83) scored 7 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Riviera Gdynia maintains eighth position with 4-12 record. Widzew lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 14 games lost. Riviera Gdynia will face higher ranked AZS Gorzow Wielkopolski (#6) in Gorzow Wlkp. in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Widzew will play at home against MKS Konin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
